Civic Hybrid still planned to be congestion exempt

09 Aug 2007
Honda's Civic Hybrid will continue to be London Congestion Charge exempt under Transport for London's proposed changes to the scheme, announced this week.

Cars that emit under 120g/km of CO2 and are EuroIV compliant - like the Civic Hybrid (109g/km) - will be exempt from the charge under the new plans. This means that if the proposals go ahead, new and existing Civic Hybrid customers will still be able to travel in and out of the zone free of charge.

Hybrids are within the fastest growing sector in the car industry. The hybrid market itself has doubled over the last 12 months, with year to date sales of the Civic Hybrid up by 500 per cent (1,735 versus 340 this time last year).
